Pinker Times

FLORAL POP-UP PINKER TIMES DEBUTS

AT BUCKHEAD VILLAGE DISTRICT

Open Through the Summer, Pop-Up Shop Features Floral Art Installations, Plus Bouquets & Arrangements

Pinker Times – a floral shop and art installation pop-up – is now open at Buckhead Village District. Located on the corner of Bolling Way NE and Buckhead Ave. between Hermès and Canali (256 Buckhead Ave NE), Pinker Times offers bouquets and arrangements for purchase alongside artful elements and a whimsical soundscape for an immersive artistic experience.

The 827-square-foot shop is open through summer 2020 and features a colorful, suspended floral sculpture and Yoon Nam, a peaceful soundscape created by Yoonie. Available for in-store purchases and delivery, arrangements and bouquets are created with unique florals, including amaranthus, dahlias, peonies and more. Nearly all flowers are sourced from local Georgia growers, including 3 Porch Farm and Chattahoochee Queen, with a small minority sourced from global growers when varieties are out of season within the state.

With a background in fine art and art direction, founder Skye Lin started sharing her love for flower arrangements with neighbors during the 2020 quarantine. Pinker Times has grown to be a way for the public to connect and reconnect during times of separation. Born in Zhaozhou, China and raised in Vietnam, Skye Lin is a storyteller and art director based between New York, Atlanta and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Skye attended SCAD Atlanta and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Art, Installation Art and Sculpture degree. She has been featured in front of and behind the camera in Marie Claire, Elle Vietnam, Harper Bazaar Vietnam, Galore Mag and Dep Magazine. She took part in Art Basel 2017 and has multiple installations in major retail stores in Ho Chi Minh City. Her poetic and nostalgic work derives from her journey of being far from home, her admiration for East vs. West beauty and her experiences as an artist of Asian descent living in the United States.

"Flowers are a really powerful material. In the chaos of the pandemic and during a time of separation, people need a way to connect with their loved ones,” says Lin. “By creating bouquets for neighbors and friends, I aim to bring life and joy through florals to peoples’ doorsteps. Perhaps, it is a project sprouted out of crisis.”
